Clay Offering Bowl with Scroll Handle
Raku is a Japanese firing technique that places glowing red pots pulled from the kiln into closed containers filled with combustible materials like sawdust, dried leaves or paper. The resulting smoke causes unglazed areas to blacken and glazed areas to craze and crackle. Soot and ash are scrubbed away revealing metallic colors and textures.
