Old, encrusted, patinated metal, the entire surface is detailed with flowing patterns yet the overall feeling is that of simplicity. The ornate copper lower section has the beautiful verdigris that develops on copper, the lid may be another metal. Tri- footed Foo Dog with claws, movable side ring handles, the “imperfections” of hand made seen in the joining of sections and there are a few small dents, having seen a bit of hardship. The many cutouts allow incense sticks to be easily placed. The interior can accommodate cone incense (if you use a long tong with care please).
