Ancient Carved Stone Horse Bead Necklace ~ Goddess of Night

$195.00

Antique Black Agate Horse Intaglio Stone Bead - Agate is associated with Nyx, the Greek Goddess of Night whose chariot was pulled by two dark horses to deliver night upon the world.
We search for horses but the gesture and rendering must also be right. This horse’s neck is extended in what is called a frame in dressage, the lovely head carriage that bespeaks the grace of the horse. This bead was damaged and repaired at some point in its life but we did not see this as a detraction from its quiet beauty. Touched by excavated ancient rock crystal beads dated around 1200 CE, unique in their shapes and inclusions. The companion stones are matte labradorite, the Mystic’s stone of transformation, black tourmaline, talisman of protection and matte black agate, worn by the Magi. Pyrite, bronzed ceramic tube beads, horn and lapis lazuli complete the circle. A single antique Afghani turquoise tube bead carries the lore of horsemen and mounted warriors from Samarkand & Persia that decorated their horse trappings with turquoise for endurance and safe footing.

Finished with sterling silver artisan clasp and fittings.                                Beautiful and powerful when worn with a Stone Keeper.

Agate Intaglio Bead - 1/2”W X 7/8” L, open necklace 22” L from clasp to clasp.

With Stone Lore Cards.
