The Goddess of wealth, prosperity and fortune… Shri Maha Lakshmi oil lamps have been used in home temples for centuries and burned as votives during Festival of Dewali. The embodiment of love and beauty, consort of Lord Vishnu, Lakshmi came out of the ocean during the great churning of the Ocean of Milk, Kshir-Sagar of Hindu cosmology. Late 18th or early 19th century, bronze, coppery underside with verdigris, patina. Traditional use: Fill basin with oil of your choice and use a cotton wick. A tealight fits well and both produce sacred and serene light for your altar, yoga, meditation or bedroom.
